5 Cocktails to Serve This Summer

Whether you’re hosting a beach-themed corporate brouhaha or a summertime soiree, your event is going to need a top-of-the-line drink menu.  The warm months are a great time to serve cold, refreshing drinks to thirsty patrons. In order to make sure everyone at your party has a great time, be sure to serve up some of the drinks mentioned below.

  1. Spanish Gin & Tonic

What makes this drink Spanish? The artful garnish and the refreshing mixture of lemons and lime. While American G&Ts are typically served in a rocks glass, a Spanish-style cocktail utilized a large glass with plenty of ice and room for garnishes like flowers and fresh herbs.

Ingredients:

1.5 oz Spring 44 gin

5 oz Fever Tree tonic

Lime and lemon wheels

Instructions:

Pour the gin over a wine glass filled with ice. Top with tonic water and stir. Garnish with lemon and lime wheels.

  1. Summer Fizz

This drink is light, bubbly, and refreshing all in one glass. Best of all, it pairs well with your favorite medium bodied cigar.

Ingredients:

1.5 oz Don Papa 7 rum

.5 oz ginger syrup

.5 oz peach purée

.5 oz lemon juice

1 egg white

Soda top

Instructions:

Dry shake, re-shake with ice, top with soda. Garnish with fresh ginger and lemon peel.

  1. Watermelon Sangria

Who doesn’t love a good sangria on a hot day? This one is chock-full of summer flavors like watermelon and rum.

Ingredients:

4 cups cubed watermelon

1 750-ml. bottle moscato

1 cup rum

Juice of 4 limes

Zest of 2 limes

1 tbsp sugar

Lime slices, for garnish

Instructions:

In a blender combine watermelon, moscato, rum, lime juice and zest, and sugar and blend until smooth. Refrigerate until chilled.

1.5 oz Elijah Craig Bourbon

.75 oz lemon juice

.5 oz Ferrand Dry Curacao

.25 oz Crème de Pêche

Mint sprig
